The Scarred Young Master’s Maid

Lord Nix Farrow, the Iron Duke of Loudhill, suffered a terrible accident during the war that left his skin hideously scarred. Though his valor earned him the respect of the realm and the title of a celebrated hero, it also left him with a crippling self-consciousness about his appearance. 

Even his childhood betrothed broke off their engagement, driving Nix into seclusion and fueling a deep-seated anxiety, especially around women.  His mind would blank, his hands would tremble, and his composure would crumble in their presence.

‘I’m fine this way. I don’t care about women.’

Convinced that no one could ever love him, Nix had long ago resigned himself to a life without romance or marriage.  His devoted younger brother, Desidero, however, refused to give up hope. After a relentless search, he finally located a heathen apothecary, rumored to be a miracle worker with skin ailments.

“My name is Titchte Ranlam.”

But Desidero hadn’t mentioned she was a woman!  Her dark, curling hair was long and luxurious. Her rosy cheeks seemed to exude the scent of roses.  She was petite and charming.  She was a woman. 

…A woman.
